(NOAH) EVENT RECAP: SUNNY VOYAGE 2023 (Aomori Hachinohe Yutori 1st floor multi-purpose large hall, Monday March 27th)

The final night of the Tohoku tour attracted 269 people. Yoshinari Ogawa was holding what Noah fans call a "classroom" when fans arrived. For those new to Noah, this means that he's finishing up doing some teaching in the ring. When the hall started to fill up, Jake Lee was on autograph and photo duty. Fans commented not only on his great height, but how gentle he was with the young children.

Today's event will be streamed on WrestleUniverse on March 31st from 18:00 JST. You must be a subscriber to view. As it was not live I have more information on some matches than others. Credit is given to the fans who live tweeted at the end of this report.

MATCH ONE
Mohammed Yone vs Taishi Ozawa
Winner: Mohammed Yone with the Kinniku Buster (7 minutes, 35 seconds)

Yone was very complimentary about Ozawa afterwards.

MATCH TWO
Masa Kitamiya, Daiki Inaba & Kinya Okada vs Takashi Sugiura, Shuhei Taniguchi & Akitoshi Saito
Winner: Shuhei Taniguchi with the Face Kick on Kinya Okada (12 minutes, 55 seconds)

Despite the fact that he had gotten the win over young Kinya Okada, and not either of the GHC Heavyweight Tag Champions, a win was a win to Shuhei Taniguchi and he went slightly off the rails again. Takashi Sugiura pounced on him backstage about this, but when he offered a handshake, Taniguchi left him hanging. Not because Taniguchi wanted to insult him, but because he was elated.

MATCH THREE
AMAKUSA & The Noah Junior Regulars (Atsushi Kotoge, Seiki Yoshioka & Alejandro) vs Ninja Mac, Lanzelot, Super Crazy & Xtreme Tiger
"Ninja Mac flew above my imagination"
Winner: Ninja Mac with the Phoenix Bomb on Atsushi Kotoge (12 minutes, 11 seconds)

Despite the fact that the match had no malice between the two teams and no one was feuding or fighting over a belt, getting revenge etc, they seem to have had fun and the audience said there was some laughter, backstage Atsushi Kotoge lamented the fact that he had lost three out of four matches on the tour, and with Harada retired and YO-HEY gone, perhaps it was time to start something new with Alejandro and Seiki Yoshioka?

MATCH FOUR
Saxon Huxley vs Yoshiki Inamura
Winner: Saxon Huxley with the Neck Hanging Bomb (7 minutes, 50 seconds)

Apparently Huxley even attacked Inamura after the match too by throwing objects into the ring, a chair and I think also a wooden table, which he put Inamura through using the Neck Hanging Bomb.

MATCH FIVE
El Hijo Del Dr Wagner Jnr, Yoshinari Ogawa vs Kaito Kiyomiya & HAYATA

The friction between Yoshinari Ogawa and HAYATA was not resolved in any way, as Ogawa decided to attack HAYATA before the bell even rang.

Winner: El Hijo Del Dr Wagner Jnr with the Wagner Driver on Kaito Kiyomiya (16 minutes, 21 seconds)

After taking the finisher, there was concern about Kaito Kiyomiya was he was not moving. HAYATA, El Hijo Del Dr Wagner Jnr and Yoshinari Ogawa all gathered around as the trainer rushed into the ring.

Fortunately, Kiyomiya was able to leave the ring on his own two feet and to applause of the fans, but he had to be supported out by HAYATA and Ozawa. PKDX are reporting that Kiyomiya has a suspected concussion. At the time of writing, Noah are yet to comment officially.

MATCH SIX
Naomichi Marufuji vs Yasutaka Yano

Fans called this match Yasutaka Yano's "baptism", and he really took it to Marufuji as much as Marufuji took it to him, even dropping him on the apron and pulling out a finisher that he has not used in a while.

Winner: Naomichi Marufuji with the Shin Tora (16 minutes, 19 seconds)

Backstage, Marufuji praised Yano's progress, but he said he needed to think a little more deeply about being in the semi main, and he needed to stop thinking like a young guy. Marufuji remarked that when he was Yano's age (which he guessed in Yano's case was about twenty one to twenty three), he was holding the singles belt, a hint/instruction for him to start getting involved more in the titles.

MATCH SEVEN
Captains Fall
Good Looking Guys (Jake Lee, Jack Morris, Anthony Green, YO-HEY & Tadasuke) vs Kongoh (Kenoh, Katsuhiko Nakajima, Manabu Soya, Hajime Ohara & Hi69)

Kenoh had loudly proclaimed Hi69 (local boy to Tohoku) to be the team captain of Kongoh, while Good Looking Guys nominated Tadasuke as theirs. Tadasuke was unfortunately ganged up on by Kongoh, with Kenoh calling him "ugly!".

Winner: Jake Lee with the Skewed Front High Kick on Hi69 (19 minutes, 50 seconds)

After the match Jake asked Kenoh just how those rules that he proposed worked out for him? Tadasuke said that with the belt he was going to be "even more cool" and a "super good looking guy", while YO-HEY said he was "sick of" Yoshinari Ogawa and Eita's "mushy daytime drama like developments" and he was going to prove the meaning of being in GLG by getting the belts.
