(NOAH) EVENT RECAP: SUNNY VOYAGE 2023 (Saturday April 22nd, Act City Hamamatsu, Hamamatsu)

Noah's fallout show from Sendai on the 16th April was held today in the provinces. I am afraid I don't have too much information on what happened, it doesn't seem as anything major did, but seeds seem to certainly have been laid for the future, especially for also the Kyoto show tomorrow. I am very grateful to the fans who attended, and credit is given below. Today's event will be broadcast on WrestleUniverse on the 25th April from 18:00 JST. You must be a subscriber to view.

NOSAWA Rongai was also seen sitting at a table and watching the action at the back of the hall. Now he’s retired he doesn’t get involved in the show anymore, but seems to enjoy travelling with Noah still.

MATCH ONE
Masa Kitamiya vs Taishi Ozawa

Fans noted that Masa Kitamiya had changed his costume to the "demon version" (this basically means he has a picture of a demonic face on them, instead of the Japanese flag) which usually means he's very angry)

Winner: Masa Kitamiya with the Prison Lock (6 minutes, 2 seconds)

MATCH TWO
Three Way Match
Lanzelot vs Alejandro vs Super Crazy
Winner: Lanzelot over Alejandro via Broken Bomb (7 minutes)

MATCH THREE
Kongoh (Kenoh & Katsuhiko Nakajima) vs Funky Express (Mohammed Yone & Akitoshi Saito)
Winner: Katsuhiko Nakajima with the Vertical Spike on Mohammed Yone (12 minutes, 20 seconds)

Kongoh watched their opponents go, but Katsuhiko Nakajima, although he got the win (and earlier had laughed at Mohammed Yone’s “Disco Fever” taunt), did not appear to stay with Kenoh when he posed at the end.

MATCH FOUR
AMAKUSA & The Noah Junior Regulars (Atsushi Kotoge & Seiki Yoshioka) vs Kongoh Juniors (Shuji Kondo, Hajime Ohara & Hi69)
Winner: Hi69 with the Stuka Splash on Atsushi Kotoge (11 minutes, 31 seconds)

Backstage, the Kongoh Juniors (in particular Hi69) congratulated themselves on doing well. Hi69 said that he was the one who won today, and he was also the one who would be facing Junta Miyawaki in his comeback match from Mexico. Meanwhile, the woes of the Noah Junior Regulars continue.

MATCH FIVE
Kaito Kiyomiya & Yoshinari Ogawa vs Good Looking Guys (Jack Morris & Anthony Green)
Winner: Kaito Kiyomiya with what Noah described as a roll up following the arm drag (fans said it was more of a whip, and this apparently pleased Yoshinari Ogawa) on Anthony Green (12 minutes, 43 seconds)

MATCH SIX
HAYATA & Daiki Inaba vs Ninja Mack & Sean Legacy

Ninja Mack attacked HAYATA'S left arm (which is the one HAYATA injured in their title match in late 2022), while Sean Legacy and Daiki Inaba sparked off what appears to be a budding rivalry.

Winner: Sean Legacy over Daiki Inaba with Swan Dive 450° Splash (12 minutes, 7 seconds)

MATCH SEVEN
Takashi Sugiura, Shuhei Taniguchi, El Hijo Del Dr Wagner Jnr & Yoshiki Inamura vs Real (Timothy Thatcher, Saxon Huxley & Hideki Suzuki) & Kazuyuki Fujita

Hideki Suzuki's new unit "REAL" came out in new unit t-shirts, which were black with red writing. Kazuyuki Fujita (who seems to be unaffiliated so far) handed out bottles of VIPER tonic to his team, who downed them and to the referee, who I think may have managed to get out of drinking it. Fans want to know when these t-shirts are going to be released. Once Takashi Sugiura was in the ring, I think he may have offered a handshake to his former teammates, everyone but Hideki Suzuki apparently shook hands, or else Sugi did not offer Suzuki a handshake.

Winner: Saxon Huxley with Neck Hanging Bomb on Takashi Sugiura (18 minutes, 9 seconds)

Backstage, in a loud promo, Saxon Huxley decided there hadn't been quite enough destruction today and Timothy Thatcher (who was more animated than I had ever seen him) said that they would destroy both the GHC Heavyweight Tag Champions and the GHC National Champion. When this whirlwind had gone, Hideki Suzuki said that The Sugiura Army ended in Sendai, and the new unit, REAL, appeared. The whole segment was very reminiscent of an old school American wrestling promo.

MATCH EIGHT
Good Looking Guys (Jake Lee, YO-HEY & Tadasuke) vs Naomichi Marufuji, Dragon Bane & Alpha Wolf

Pretty much everyone in Good Looking Guys got chopped by Naomichi Marufuji; Jake Lee on a rope break (and probably more as Marufuji was seen holding an ice pack to his chest), poor Tadasuke who had his t-shirt pulled over his head, and I would think also probably YO-HEY, who got massive height on his top rope dropkick.

Winner: Dragon Bane with the Twisterbane on YO-HEY (14 minutes, 25 seconds)

At the end of the match, Dragon Bane and Alpha Wolf posed with the tag belts as they had their hands raised with Marufuji. Outside of the ring, Jake Lee watched and applauded calmly. Afterwards, Marufuji said he was fine; there was no injury, he wasn't out of breath or in pain, and told Jake to "bring me flowers" (i.e. glory, laurels etc) in his 25th anniversary year. Later on Twitter, Jake sarcastically wished him congratulations. Marufuji replied (a little coldly after thanking him) that tomorrow they would do more.

After the show the roster, including Kazuyuki Fujita, which was a nice surprise for local fans as they don't often see him, came out to sign autographs and pose for photographs.
