Nine major professional wrestling promotions will establish the "United Japan Pro Wrestling Federation". Establishment show will be held at the Nippon Budokan on May 6th next year.

It was announced on the 15th, that major promotions such as New Japan, All Japan and Pro Wrestling Noah, will unite to establish the United Japan Pro Wrestling Federation (UJPW), an industry organization for the pro wrestling industry. 

Currently, there is no business association in the Japanese professional wrestling industry, and amid the unprecedented crisis the Coronavirus, they are working to obtain accurate information as quickly as possible and co-operate with national and local governments on issues facing the professional wrestling industry as a whole. It all started when there was a strong recognition of the need for an organization that could represent the professional wrestling industry in a unified manner.

With an eye to the future in anticipation of the world becoming more diverse, nine promotions have announced that they will take the lead in the industry and have agreed to establish a business association. While maintaining the healthy industry exchange competition that has existed to date, the organization aims to create a place where opinions and information can be exchanged in order to resolve issues common to the professional wrestling industry, and to ensure the sustainable development. 
An event commemorating the establishment of the first United Japan Pro Wrestling Federation is scheduled for May 6th 2024 at the Nippon Budokan.

New Japan seem to be chairing most of the positions with the position of chairman, executive officer and executive director being held by people in their organization.
