Noah's Jake Lee (35) spoke of his enthusiasm ahead of the final match of his unit, GLG.
Jake has decided to disband GLG, which he founded in January last year, at Tokyo's Nippon Budokan on the 13th, and will team up with YO-HEY and Tadasuke to face Jack Morris, Anthony Green, and LJ Cleary to settle things. He cited his loss to Tetsuya Naito at "ALL TOGETHER" (June) as the reason for his decision to disband, explaining "After losing while carrying the name of the team, I can't continue to carry that name". In addition, he said that since the beginning of the year, he has not been able to get involved in the title race. He bowed his head, saying, "In the midst of all of this, each member was making their own results and asserting themselves, and I had a vague feeling that "Maybe they don't need to work under me anymore." but I'm just grateful that they accepted my selfish request."
On the other hand, it's quite eerie that they have not heard from Jack Morris, who was unhappy about the breakup. Jake said cautiously "If you put yourself in Jack's position, you can understand. But, how does he intend to come to the ring? Whether he intends not to come in at all or whatever, there must be something going on if we haven't been able to get in touch with him for so long."
Jake has also announced that he will be making his first appearance at New Japan's Midsummer Festival "G1 CLIIMAX" (which starts on the 20th in Osaka), and with his rival Naito in the same A Block, he said as he waited for his opportunity, "That's why I want to completely shed the label I've been carrying. I'll go into the G1 completely naked."
Should he put the past behind him and move on to a new battle?
