(NOAH) Event recap - Yokohama Radiant Halls (31st July 2018)

"Everything is interesting"

Noah announced they were releasing some new official photographs of Noah wrestlers (which they will sign when fans purchase them) at the venue today. People were asking for Akitoshi Saito's (from looking at the pictures everyone else, except Kenoh, seemed to have done a studio shot).

Candy was given out prior to the event ("The Leave" Noah's long-term sponsors and a famous local Yokohama wrestling bar "The Wrestling Dojo" sponsored today's event).

Very good reviews for today's show, it got off to a strong start with the first matches in particular. Half the crowd said to be women (venue said to be overcrowded).

Mohammed Yone was an autograph duty today.

MATCH ONE
Yoshinari Ogawa & Masao Inoue vs Seiya Morohashi & Junta Miyawaki

The match was said to be intense, which is unusual for a Masao Inoue match. Miyawaki came close to getting his first win, so hopefully it won't be too far off now.

WINNER: Masao Inoue with the lariat on Junta Miyawaki (9 minutes and 1 second)

MATCH TWO
Atsushi Kotoge vs Ling Dong Xuan vs Shiro Koshinaka

Atsushi Kotoge (complete with revolutionary cloak) ran around the venue today (he's completely lost it, not that Kotoge ever completely had it, but whatever he had, its long gone now).

Although it was a three man match, Koshinaka seemed to content to wait in the corner and watch Kotoge & Ling duke it out, and apparently Atsushi Kotoge knows some Chinese (I'm not sure of what he said, but it was said to be in Chinese).
The Yokohama crowd very excited by the match, and the Chinese athlete, Ling, was said to have done very well.

WINNER: Shiro Koshinaka with the hip attack on Ling Dong Xian (10 minutes and 1 second)

MATCH THREE
Cody Hall & Maybach Taniguchi vs Chang Yufeng & Sun Yu Lin

Match got positive reviews, said to be good, but the crowd probably a little tired from the two matches before.

WINNER: Cody Hall with the lariat on Chang Yufeng (8 minutes and 17 seconds)

MATCH FOUR
GLOBAL JUNIOR TAG LEAGUE
Hi69 & Minoru Tanaka vs Ricky Marvin & El Hijo Del Pantera

As you can imagine, with four guys who possess the ability to either wrestle lucha style or else do high flying maneuvers, this match took off quickly, and again the crowd was on their feet.

It was said to be a good match, and both teams shook hands at the end.
Fans hope that Ricky Marvin will return again to Noah

WINNER: Minoru Tanaka with the Cobra Twist on Ricky Marvin (12 minutes and 35 seconds)
(One fan commented that the referee (Shu Nishinaga) seemed sad to tell Marvin it was a three count)

MATCH FIVEGLOBAL JUNIOR TAG LEAGUE
Daisuke Harada & Tadasuke vs The Backbreakers (Hajime Ohara & Hitoshi Kumano)

Hajime Ohara still has taping around the neck, however, Daisuke Harada (who can be sickeningly ruthless when it comes to obtaining or protecting a title) decided to strip it away and attack him there. Ohara was said to be suffering throughout the match.
Hitoshi Kumano hit the ring soon afterwards, and he was very powerful today (and don't forget, he has defeated both Harada and Tadasuke at various times, although not Harada for the title).
Crowd shouted "Muy Bien" with Hajime Ohara, but evil Daisuke Harada broke it, then Kumano caught him and put him in the Argentine Backbreaker.

Tadasuke said to have a heavyweight fighting style (that would make three potential heavyweights in RATELS, except YO-HEY who looked like a ragdoll being dragged by a toddler when he faced Kaito Kiyomiya).

Ragdoll

Daisuke Harada threw a rare tantrum at the referee over the Backbreakers victory (he does have his moments). Kumano, however, was more engaged in looking for an ice pack for Ohara than celebrating.
Very intense match.

WINNER: Hitoshi Kumano with the Flash Package on Tadasuke (19 minutes and 42 seconds)

MATCH SIX
The Veteran Army vs The New Super Generation Army
(Takashi Sugiura, Naomichi Marufuji, Akitoshi Saito, Mohammed Yone & Quiet Storm vs Go Shiozaki, Katsuhiko Nakajima, Masa Kitamiya, Kenoh & Kaito Kiyomiya)

With the win over The Aggression by Naomichi Marufuji and  Akitoshi Saito, the vets now hold all the heavyweight belts. However, the Super New Generation Army, where not going to take it lying down.
Kenoh (who called them "those decrepit men) was NOT happy with the situation (habitual scowl got even darker)
Takashi Sugiura and Go Shiozaki stared each other down. Sugiura got chopped again (poor guy has been chopped so much that come August 5th, Shiozaki's going to start on his chest bones)
Katsuhiko Nakajima laughing as he choked Marufuji with a chair, grinned when he got chopped by him (he even spread his arms apart as if to tell him to come and do it), and smirked when he tortured his knees.

Go Shiozaki later took out the Veteran Army by lariating everyone.

It was one of those matches that because it had so many people in it, it ends up being like a rumble, you can't watch everything or everyone, and as great as this match was, people did comment that there was too much going on.

Kenoh hinted that he would challenge for the GHC Heavyweight Tag (although no challenge was made today), I ran a poll that asked who would be his partner, out of 89 votes, 27% said Atsushi Kotoge for Kenoh's partner, 55% said Kaito Kiyomiya, 18% said someone else.

WINNER: Go Shiozaki with Gowan Lariat on Takashi Sugiura (17 minutes and 42 seconds)

MATCH SEVEN
GLOBAL JUNIOR TAG LEAGUE
YO-HEY & HAYATA vs Ikuto Hidaka & Takuya Sugawara

Both YO-HEY & Hidaka were trained by FUNAKI, hence Hidaka's "Team FUNAKI" T-shirt. Both YO-HEY & HAYATA airborne, HAYATA with a huge leap over the top rope and YO-HEY later also going airborne (sometimes into the crowd, the ring and the seats being very close together in Yokohama). YO-HEY was put in the Shinken Capture again, which whipped Yokohama up even more as this is a submission move, and it looked as if he was going to submit, however, it was HAYATA who got the victory with double moonsaults on Takuya Sugawara.
Great main event with YO-HEY & HAYATA advancing to the finals.

After the match, The Backbreakers appeared (Hajime Ohara with an ice pack taped to the back of his neck). Ohara said everything will be made even at Korakuen, and they will repay the debt, he is not going to take the Headache again (which lost them the match on the 28th July), and they will win the titles in Kawasaki.

When they had gone, YO-HEY said "We are the best Noah team! The best thing we have, that other teams do not, is love! Wife, say something!"
HAYATA: Same!

WINNER: HAYATA with the double moonsault on Takuya Sugawara (18 minutes and 32 seconds)

Attendance: 329 (super no vacancy)
