(NOAH) Event recap ~ Kasumigaura Cultural Gymnasium, (Saturday March 2nd 2019, "Navigation For The Progress", NIGHT FIVE)

An example of how rural some of Noah's venues are, and how well they do to attract people, even if it is not full capacity.

Kenoh celebrated 11 years in wrestling today, having debuted on March 2nd 2008. Today's match was very different to his match last year. He came out at the break to sign autographs.

Due to Atsushi Kotoge missing due to injury (he posted a picture of himself rehabbing his arm) and Cody Hall not being on the card (or any subsequent ones so far, which is odd as Noah have not announced an absence or a reason yet), the card itself was only five matches.
The floor shook when the ring vibrated, and the audience could feel it in their seats.

At this will be the second to last event when the ikonic green ring is used, Noah held a special photography session for the Fan Club members during the break to have their pictures taken in it. The green ring will be used one final time tomorrow, and after that only for the two Misawa memorial shows.

Katsuhiko Nakajima was on autograph duty today.

MATCH ONE
Kenoh vs Kinya Okada

The fans greeted Kenoh with a blizzard of red paper tape, and he was given flowers.
Kenoh kicked Okada, did the diving foot stamp, and the match was over.

WINNER: Kenoh. In 1 minute and 51 seconds.

MATCH TWO
50 Funky Powers vs Akitoshi Saito & Maybach Taniguchi

Akitoshi Saito extended the olive branch to Maybach Taniguchi (who appeared carrying his Sasumata today), by asking him to come back and start being part of Noah again. During the match he asked Taniguchi to help him, but Taniguchi just stood and stared.
Said to be an intense match and naturally, all four of them gave their all, but otherwise not much else to say about it.

WINNER: Quiet Storm with the 50cm lariat on Akitoshi Saito (10 minutes and 8 seconds)

MATCH THREE
Yoshinari Ogawa, Kotaro Suzuki & YO-HEY vs Tadasuke, HAYATA & Junta Miyawaki

YO-HEY started by attacking HAYATA as soon as he got in the ring (HAYATA hadn't even taken his RATELS jacket off), then Yoshinari Ogawa joined in. Kotaro Suzuki had a go from outside the ring, while YO-HEY taunted Tadasuke. Later, with Junta Miyawaki (who fought hard today) and Tadasuke knocked to the side, HAYATA was on his own against them.

Tadasuke's bond with HAYATA is said to be growing stronger, and at the end he stood in the ring and looked at Ogawa et al as they walked off and turned to face him, Tadasuke is the most scary being bigger and a lot more powerful than the rest of them, and so far, really the only one in RATELS who Kotaro Suzuki had any praise for (aside from his hair apparently being greasy due to too much hair treatment).

WINNER: YO-HEY with the Facial G on Junta Miyawaki (15 minutes and 25 seconds)

MATCH FOUR
"Yesterdays enemies, are today's friends"
Takashi Sugiura & The Backbreakers (Hajime Ohara & Hitoshi Kumano) vs Mitsuya Nagai, Hi69 & Masao Inoue

A little child called out good luck to Ohara, Ohara said thanks, and the little child said thanks back to him!

Hajime Ohara and Mitsuya Nagai worked very well together in the ring, kids cheering Ogawa as the fight went into the crowd. Later they cheered Masao Inoue when Ohara beat him up.

Takashi Sugiura and Masao Inoue also worked very well together, Inoue at one point bit Takashi Sugiura's fingers when Sugiura got him in some kind of face lock. Later, Sugiura got his revenge when he went to charge at Inoue from a corner.
Inoue said "wait", but Sugiura took no notice.

Said to be a very fun match.

WINNER: Takashi Sugiura with a sideways slam on Masao Inoue (20 minutes and 3 seconds)

MATCH FIVE
Kaito Kiyomiya, Daisuke Harada & AXIZ (Katsuhiko Nakajima & Go Shiozaki) vs Naomichi Marufuji, Minoru Tanaka, Masa Kitamiya and Yoshiki Inamura.

"I was afraid of the Marufuji who attacked Kiyomiya's legs today"

Katsuhiko Nakajima held up the belt to Masa Kitamiya (naturally, Kitamiya's tag partner, Eddie Edwards is not here today due to his schedule with IMPACT, so it is left to Kitamiya to hold the fort.)

There were not that many streamers for Kaito Kiyomiya today, not compared to Kenoh that was (a local fan explained that Kiyomiya is not as popular as he is in the cities, its nothing against him personally, its just the veterans and other seniors are more popular in the provinces).

As soon as the bell rang, Naomichi Marufuji immediately started working on Kiyomiya's legs, later he and Kiyomiya got into a fight outside the ring, and when he fell, Marufuji was looming over him. The picture taken of it (which I cannot post her as it is a fan picture), was ominous as Marufuji was half in shadow. They had a pretty vicious chop war too.
Unsurprisingly, by the end of the match, Kiyomiya was limping.

In the ring Go Shiozaki was no selling Inamura when Inamura tried to chop him, and Inamura also tried to slam him. It has been suggested that Inamura should emulate Steve Williams, both of a similar physique and it would be a good technique for him.

Nakajima at the end, leaned on the ropes and looked down at Kitamiya in a sinister way while his teammates stood in the ring. He looked like a cat waiting for its prey (or a Velociraptor waiting in long grass). After the match, AXIZ posed with the belts and turned to face all sides of the hall.

Go Shiozaki addressed the crowd, and said that after the 10th March, Noah will leave the past behind and be reborn, and asked everyone to continue their support.

WINNER: Go Shiozaki with the lariat on Yoshiki Inamura (21 minutes and 13 seconds)

Attendance: 241
