(NOAH) EVENT RECAP ~ NOAH the SPIRIT 2019 - Ryumioka Kaikan, Okazaki City, Saturday May 11th, 2019 (NIGHT ONE)

Noah started the first day of their short three event interim tour "NOAH The Spirit 2019", before Global Junior Tag League starts later in the month (the 28th).
As is sometimes the way when Noah hold shows in the provinces, its hard to get information, so I have been able to give some snippets on what happened in the match on some more than others, in others, I am afraid I have only been able to give results.

Noah are currently in the grip of the injury bug (which is worse so far than all of 2018 put together), YO-HEY is off with a pneumothorax, Naomichi Marufuji is absent due to a hernia in the lower lumbar spine (neither were at the event today), and Kinya Okada (with a sulky face which Takashi Sugiura photographed on the bus journey to the arena, and said he was tired of looking at), is still absent, and remains so for the foreseeable future.
On a happier note, Okada was seen at ringside instructing TWO new trainees, both with the traditional shaved head of rookies.

Kaito Kiyomiya was on autograph duty.

MATCH ONE
50 Funky Powers (Mohammed Yone & Quiet Storm) vs The Return of The Dark Agents (Akitoshi Saito & Masao Inoue).

WINNER: Mohammed Yone with the Funky Buster Bomb on Masao Inoue (11 minutes and 6 seconds)

MATCH TWO
Shuhei Taniguchi vs Yoshiki Inamura

Yoshiki Inamura tried his best (and he was seconded by Masa Kitamiya and Atsushi Kotoge), but naturally, when faced with a leviathan veteran like Taniguchi, it was not meant to be.

WINNER: Shuhei Taniguchi when Inamura tapped out to the Camel Clutch variant (9 minutes and 49 seconds)

MATCH THREE
Keisuke Ishii & Katsuhiko Nakajima vs Kouki Iwasaki & Mitsuya Nagai

I don't think Nagai and Iwasaki got on very well, although Nakajima was his usual smug smirking self and worked well with Ishii.

WINNER: Katsuhiko Nakajima with the Vertical Spike on Kouki Iwasaki (13 minutes and 11 seconds)

MATCH FOUR
Stinger (Yoshinari Ogawa & Kotaro Suzuki) & Junta Miyawaki vs RATELS (Daisuke Harada, Tadasuke & HAYATA).

WINNER: HAYATA with a moonsault on Junta Miyawaki (12 minutes and 37 seconds)

MATCH FIVE
Go Shiozaki & Hitoshi Kumano  vs The Sugiura Army (Takashi Sugiura & Hajime Ohara).

Like Katsuhiko Nakajima, Go Shiozaki didn't wear his AXIZ ringwear (Nakajima came out in his sinister wolves clothing, and Shiozaki reverted to the black and purple trunks). Hajime Ohara, debuted new ring gear of similar style, but with black and white colors.
Even the ring announcer had a new haircut to continue the trend of new or different things.

Shiozaki and Sugiura beat the hell out of each other.

WINNER: Takashi Sugiura with the Olympic Slam on Hitoshi Kumano (17 minutes and 17 seconds)

MATCH SIX
Kaito Kiyomiya, Minoru Tanaka & Hi69 vs Kongoh (Kenoh, Masa Kitamiya & Atsushi Kotoge)

Atsushi Kotoge wore his cape (the big red one with the big red collar), and Kenoh (a little less taped today, but still a worry given Noah's injury bug doing the rounds) menaced Kiyomiya at the start of the match.

WINNER: Kaito Kiyomiya with the Tiger Driver on Atsushi Kotoge (21 minutes and 45 seconds)

Kongoh have lost their debut match (Takashi Sugiura blamed it on having a comedy wrestler. Nagai is furious that Kotoge has joined Kogoh, and Kenoh is yet to respond to Sugiura).

Afterwards, Kaito Kiyomiya addressed the crowd, he didn't say much except to say the last time he came here he was beaten up, commented upon the title defense at Korakuen Hall against Takashi Sugiura, and thanked everyone for coming today.
