This is the main event for the Sugiura Army has been arranged for December 27th.
The Sugiura Army is one of the strongest in the industry, and this dream match has been arranged between the four of them. Although they are famous in their respective fields such as MMA and professional wrestling, there is a hidden unexpected history which connects them.
I would like to introduce that history that came out the other the other day, during the live broadcast on Noah's YouTube channel, at "The Sugiura Army Produce! Live broadcast highlights!
OHARA: What about it?
SUGIURA: There is not much I can say. I have always been wondering when the day would come when we would fight, but I can't believe it has come so soon. I am looking forward to it.
OHARA: Did you share wrestling?
SUGIURA: Yes, well, Sakuraba and Fujita and I practised together comprehensively. When I practiced at Snake Pit*, Suzuki was also there, and we also wrestled at that time.
OHARA: Where Fujita and Sugiura classmates?
SUGIURA: Classmates, although he is four years older in a wrestling career. We were together in the Japanese amateur wrestling team*.
OHARA: It is amazing when you think about how the story developed from there.
SUGIURA: It's unexpected, tagging or fighting, I don't know how this world works.
OHARA: What about Sakuraba?
SUGIURA: He is not connected to wrestling or even when I entered wrestling. I went to the Takada Dojo to practice at Laughter7*
OHARA: You are now all united as The Sugiura Army.
SUGIURA: There is a connection because he accompanied them.
NOSAWA: Honestly, isn't everyone including Sugiura, troublesome? I think that such a collection of people have made The Sugiura Army a surprisingly good team.
SUGIURA: It's great to be able to gather strange people together (NOSAWA)
NOSAWA: Noah's backbone is solid here! Maybe Fujita also has trust, and he doesn't trust people too much.
SUGIURA: At the beginning he didn't open up at all, I think he has a little lately (laughs)
NOSAWA: It's a great relationship. As expected, classmate from the same era Sugiura, bought it together.
SUGIURA: Say that during the match (laughs)
NOSAWA: Instructions (rough)
SUGIURA: It looks like it will be fun (laughs)
NOSAWA: I think that when the theme is "Who is the strongest in The Sugiura Army", I can't predict who will win.
OHARA: Is this the first time you have ever fought?
SUGIURA: Hideki Suzuki is the only one I have ever fought. It was at ZERO-1 when it was the Bullet Yankees (Masato Tanaka & Takashi Sugiura) vs Hideki Suzuki & Kohei Sato. I've done it once.
OHARA: This is a card that you can feel the rare value of, members are gathering which are basically equal to none. Is this the first time with Fujita, since you became a pro?
SUGIURA: Correct, for the first time
OHARA: First showdown...this is a valuable match, and anyone who can come are lucky.
KAZUSHI SAKURABA'S CONFLICT WITH SUZUKI-GUN
OHARA: What about Sakuraba?
SUGIURA: This is my first time working with Sakuraba. In fact, we have fought before. Before me...what army...I was in some army.
NOSAWA: Suzuki Army...
SUGIURA: I wonder if I had the chair at that time? Hitting Sakuraba's back with a chair.
OHARA: If you have listened to this drama, then the card is even more interesting.
Four people who lived through the same amateur era in different fields and integrating into puroresu, are for some reason, they are fighting together in one team. As NOSAWA has cited, this is the clash of strong people known within the industry. This is not only going to be a rugged fight, but the wrestling life of these four people, have a packed history.
They know they are strong, but who is the strongest? Sudden opportunities come to professional wrestling, but such a moment will surely never come again.
On December 27th at Korakuen Hall, the "strongest guy" will be decided.
*UWF Snake Pit Japan (now CACC Snake Pit), gym which specialises in catch wrestling and kick boxing.
*Hideki Suzuki
*1996 Summer Olympics
*A dojo established by Kazushi Sakuraba
