GHC Heavyweight Championship Match
Kaito Kiyomiya (32nd Champion) vs Go Shiozaki (challenger)

What is the GHC Heavyweight?

The GHC Heavyweight Championship will be held at Korakuen Hall on January 4th 2020, where the current champion, Kaito Kiyomiya, and the challenger Go Shiozaki, will complete for the belt that is Noah's greatest treasure; the GHC Heavyweight title. The GHC (Global Honored Crown) is Noah's oldest belt, established by Mitsuharu Misawa in 2001.
On a global scale the meaning of this noble championship means not only the strength of a champion, but the desire to accomplish the power of a high level champion as both a person and a professional wrestler.
In the past, Kenta Kobashi demonstrated his superhuman ability and achieved his thirteen defense. It is still a synonym for the GHC Heavyweight. The soul of the belt is a beacon in these changing times, and even now continues to reign as a source of aspiration for the soldiers of The Ark.

Two aces chosen for the GHC

Just a year ago, Kaito Kiyomiya was crowned GHC champion for the first time. He is currently the young ace at only 23 years old.
He did not look at the other promotions that were available, but instead joined Noah, as he has had an admiration for Mitsuharu Misawa since childhood, and now releasing the quality that gives hope to the newborn Noah. Standing at the forefront, he strives to lead Noah to a new view. The deadly fight with Kenoh, which was demonstrated at the GHC Heavyweight match at Sumo Hall on November 2nd, is also fresh in memory. He has overcome many difficulties which would be too heavy for someone of such a young age.
His approval rating is rising day by day, and he is becoming a face of the new Noah.

Go Shiozaki inherited the chops and the lariats as a trainee of the former GHC champion, Kenta Kobashi, and has been crowned GHC Heavyweight champion three times.
Since his debut in 2004, he has been receiving great expectations as an ace in the future Noah. There was a period when he moved to All Japan, but after returning, he gradually gained support and fans expectations have risen as a man who is worthy of Noah's future.

At the Korakuen Hall event on December 3rd, he defeated his tag partner, Katsuhiko Nakajima after a great fight, and made the challenge to Kiyomiya.
"Only I can take your shiny GHC belt!" Shiozaki shouted, making the venue tremble with a different excitement to that of the one in the match. The fan expectations for Shiozaki, have a different historical weight than that of Kiyomiya.

"You are Noah (Shiozaki)"

Hideki Suzuki, who was freelancing at the event at Korakuen Hall on May 28th, told Shiozaki that "You are Noah". Although Kiyomiya was there, Suzuki was only watching Shiozaki.
For fans who have known Noah since the beginning, Hideki Suzuki's words were emphatic, but at the same time, they may have aroused painful feelings.
Although Shiozaki had been expected to be Noah's future, and although there was a blank period, his career as the ace of The Ark restarted when at time he developed and matured. The new star, Kaito Kiyomiya, has appeared just when he is on the point of that. The rise of the young ace, who wears the emerald of Noah's soul, who has just begun his journey is threatening the existence of Shiozaki.

Shiozaki himself, feels nothing. There is no expectation. After the last pre-match at the Sugiura Army produce the other day said, "All the pre matches have been exhausted, but there is something beyond. I will show everyone what that is. That is my way, and I think it is Noah's too. I will show this fight on January 4th, and not more than that."
Now the only thing that everyone can imagine, is "Noah's future" and "beyond", and the only thing he has to do now is follow for the GHC champions dignified fight.

On the other hand, Kiyomiya responded when he received the challenge from Shiozaki, "I have been looking forward to this day, as I have a future I am aiming for. From now on, I want to show you a new scenery."
Kiyomiya is proud that he had led the newborn Noah throughout a turbulent 2019, despite the various pros and cons of being champion of the promotion. Of course, he is the one who will guide Noah's future, and this is the best opportunity to prove it, at a packed Korakuen Hall.

To a new scenery in the future.

After twenty years of turbulence, the Pro Wrestling Noah, which was founded by Mitsuharu Misawa, has set sail for a new era with the hopes of young new assets.
Go Shiozaki is trying to climb to the top again, reaching for the GHC Heavyweight championship, which Kenta Kobashi built up with dignity as an absolute champion.

All of those who have been selected as GHC Heavyweight champions have linked their lives to Noah's, and have increased the value of the belt. Noah celebrated its 20th anniversary this year, and the belt was renewed last year.
Who will the ace showdown as benefitting the promotion's milestone, and engrave the dignity worthy of the new GHC heavyweight belt?
The winner will be the ferryman who will steer The Ark to a new view beyond.
