(NOAH) CARD: SUNNY VOYAGE 2022 (Friday September 30th, Bandaijima Multi-Purpose Square Ogama, Niigata)

Today's event starts at 18:30 JST and will be broadcast on WrestleUniverse on the 3rd October at 6pm. Hopefully Noah will stream a couple of matches (usually the semi main and the main) through social media. You will need to be a subscriber to view to the whole show when it becomes available.

Tonight is the fallout show from Grand Ship in Nagoya where the GHC Heavyweight and the GHC tags (both heavyweight and junior) all changed hands, but the GHC Junior did not. There is the fifth title match tonight as Masa Kitamiya takes on Masakatsu Funaki for the GHC National.

MATCH ONE
Yoshiki Inamura vs Taishi Ozawa

Taishi Ozawa keeps up his lessons in being an ultraheavy-weight wrestler (and it would not surprise me if he has started using the tires) by taking on his senior, Yoshiki Inamura. Inamura of course was the one that Ozawa made his debut against.

MATCH TWO
PERROS DEL MAL DE JAPON (NOSAWA Rongai & Super Crazy) vs Yasutaka Yano & Kai Fujimura

NOSAWA Rongai says he is only interested in fighting Kenoh and Katsuhiko Nakajima, but much to his chagrin Noah keep throwing the rookies at him. He gets them tonight and he gets them when he next teams with Eita. Neither Kenoh or Nakajima (except to say kicking NOSAWA around was fun) have actually responded to NOSAWA'S request/demands yet. Kenoh probably has no idea who he is.

MATCH THREE
Ninja Mack, Xtreme Tiger & Alejandro vs Kongoh Juniors (Tadasuke, Hajime Ohara & Hi69)

The three masked men have some issues to sort out tonight, well Tadasuke and Alejandro do, with the other two in their team as muscle. In Nagoya Tadasuke attacked Alejandro and got the match thrown out when he ripped his mask off. No pre match tonight to win for the GHC Junior Tag Challengers (Tadasuke and Hi69), so I can imagine Tadasuke ending this match in much the same way.

MATCH FOUR
Takashi Sugiura & Satoshi Kojima vs Shuhei Taniguchi & Daiki Inaba

The GHC Heavyweight Tag Champions (Takashi Sugiura and Satoshi Kojima) make their first appearance as the champions. No doubt the match will end in a squabble over whose music is playing, who hit who accidentally, who didn't come to help who, and in the midst of all of this, hopefully we will get a tag title challenge.

MATCH FIVE
STINGER (HAYATA, Yoshinari Ogawa & Chris Ridgeway) vs The Noah Junior Regulars (Atsushi Kotoge, Seiki Yoshioka & YO-HEY)

Instead of having a pre match tonight against Ninja Mack, HAYATA has gone into a match whereby he faces YO-HEY, who he managed to retain the GHC Junior Heavyweight against, and the Noah Junior Regulars who took the GHC Junior Tag titles from his teammates, Yoshinari Ogawa and Chris Ridgeway. The title matches between STINGER and the Noah Junior Regulars were vicious, and I have no doubt that this match is going to be no difference. YO-HEY has spoken about starting from zero in order to challenge HAYATA again, but he has also spoken about "a new path" as everyone in this match "heads towards a new goal".

MATCH SIX
GHC National Championship Match
Masa Kitamiya vs Masakatsu Funaki

Masa Kitamiya didn't win the N-1, and so looked beyond this and challenged for the GHC National. As much as fans like Masakatsu Funaki, many of them are hoping for a Masa Kitamiya singles run with the GHC National to both bring some life back to what was a very popular and interesting singles belt, and because he deserves it.

MATCH SEVEN
Kaito Kiyomiya, Naomichi Marufuji & Jack Morris vs Kongoh (Kenoh, Katsuhiko Nakajima & Manabu Soya)

In Nagoya, Kaito Kiyomiya took the GHC Heavyweight title from Kenoh. An upset in itself. Tonight is going to be humiliating for Kenoh, especially if Kiyomiya defeats him again and with his variation of The Shining Wizard. This match is therefore going to be a grudge match between them.
