(NOAH) EVENT RECAP: SUNNY VOYAGE 2023 (Kyoto KBS Hall, Kyoto, Sunday April 23rd)

Today's event will be broadcast on WrestleUniverse on the 26th April from 18:00 JST, you must be a subscriber to view. As this event was not streamed live, I have more information on some matches than others. Credit is given at the bottom to fans who attended.

MATCH ONE
Mohammed Yone vs Taishi Ozawa
Winner: Mohammed Yone with the Kinniku Buster (6 minutes, 15 seconds)

MATCH TWO
El Hijo Del Dr Wagner Jnr & Shuhei Taniguchi vs REAL (Hideki Suzuki & Timothy Thatcher)
Winner: Timothy Thatcher made Shuhei Taniguchi tap via Fujiwara Armbar (10 minutes, 51 seconds)

MATCH THREE
Yoshinari Ogawa & Super Crazy vs AMAKUSA & Alejandro
Winner: Alejandro with the Jacknife on Super Crazy (8 minutes, 2 seconds)

MATCH FOUR
Tadasuke vs Lanzelot vs Alpha Wolf
Winner: Alpha Wolf via Swivel Driver on Tadasuke (6 minutes, 47 seconds)

MATCH FIVE
Kongoh (Kenoh, Katsuhiko Nakajima, Manabu Soya, Hajime Ohara & Hi69) vs Masa Kitamiya, Yoshiki Inamura, Daiki Inaba & The Noah Junior Regulars (Atsushi Kotoge & Seiki Yoshioka)
Winner: Kenoh with the PFS on Seiki Yoshioka (15 minutes,  1 seconds)

The Noah Junior Regulars have not managed to get any results so far, and today it was Seiki Yoshioka who took the fall.

MATCH SIX
Takashi Sugiura vs Saxon Huxley

Accompanied by Hideki Suzuki and Timothy Thatcher, Saxon Huxley (who was impatient to go), was told by Takashi Sugiura to "wait" and then to "calm down" either after/during a rope break. In front of his former unit members (and Shuhei Taniguchi who had tapped out earlier in the evening to Timothy Thatcher), Sugi defeated Saxon and gave him his first Noah (and pre-match) loss.

Winner: Takashi Sugiura with the Olympic Slam (10 minutes, 22 seconds)

Backstage, Sugi labelled himself a "Beastmaster" and likened Huxley to Giant Bernard (the Japanese sports media are calling him "Reiwa's Brody"), Taniguchi refused to answer Sugi's question as to whether he too won today and just walked off.

MATCH SEVEN
4 WAY MATCH
HAYATA vs Ninja Mack vs Dragon Bane vs YO-HEY

As both YO-HEY and HAYATA are champions and are facing their challengers, YO-HEY suggested to HAYATA, by offering a handshake, that they team up? HAYATA responded in usual HAYATA fashion, by apparently kicking him away. However, despite this, it does appear that they did work together somewhat.

Winner: Ninja Mack with the Ninja Bomb on YO-HEY (14 minutes, 47 seconds)

After the match, Ninja Mack taunted HAYATA with the belt before handing it back to him, and backstage told him that he had won twice in the pre matches, and at Ryogoku he would be back (for the second time) for his belt. As for the GHC Junior Tag Champions, they had both failed in the pre matches against Dragon Bane and Alpha Wolf.

Jake Lee shooting Naomichi Marufuji with his air pistol, and telling him "You're next".

MATCH EIGHT
Good Looking Guys (Jake Lee, Jack Morris & Anthony Green) vs Naomichi Marufuji, Kaito Kiyomiya & Sean Legacy

Jake Lee held the belt up over Naomichi Marufuji, who made out that he was looking up at him with his hand shielding the light from his eyes. All joking around was off when Marufuji lifted Jake's chin to chop him.

Winner: Jake Lee with the Skewered Kick on Sean Legacy (20 minutes, 6 seconds)

After the match Jake provoked Marufuji even more. Jake, already tall enough at 192cm, stood on the turnbuckle and held the belt up to Marufuji below. Jake also closed out the show by saying that he didn't think that Marufuji was "rotten", not even one bit, and since this was Naomichi Marufuji's 25th anniversary in wrestling, didn't the audience think he was in his prime? The audience agreed by clapping.

Afterwards, Kongoh came out to sell Shuji Kondo's financiers (earlier in the evening, Kenoh had done a short video in which he and the others in Kongoh ate some, and Kenoh threw a package of Naomichi Marufuji's curry, which Katsuhiko Nakajima put back in place), and to sign autographs and pose for pictures etc. Fans said there was a "crush of people" at the booth.
