(NOAH) EVENT RECAP: SUNNY VOYAGE 2023 - Gunma / G Messe Gunma C Hall (Sunday July 23rd)

Note: Today's venue was formerly a race course

Unfortunately as tonight's event wasn't streamed live, I don't have very much information about what went on today. The event will be streamed on WrestleUniverse on the 26th July from 18:00 JST. Although I don't have too much information about today, I am nonetheless grateful to Tatsukun, Metal-Noah (re Noah's new ring announcer), Areyan and Aisgikanai.

Pre-show
Some members of the roster where either filmed or photographed enjoying the summer weather. Naomichi Marufuji filmed Jack Morris who was doing weights outside, who kissed for the camera, while YO-HEY photographed himself with Jack and Anthony Green (who was wearing trunks that were loosely around his waist). Inside the arena, AMAKUSA was on autographs.

A new ring announcer (Japanese) made his debut today. I don't have too many details on him, and Noah have made no announcement (at the time of writing), but I believe his name to be Okuda. Metal-Noah thinks that this may be the same Okuda, who was a ring announcer from All Japan, and has recently left the promotion.

MATCH ONE
Yoshiki Inamura vs Yu Owada
Winner: Yoshiki Inamura with a body press (5 minutes, 24 seconds)

MATCH TWO
Shuhei Taniguchi vs Taishi Ozawa
Winner: Shuhei Taniguchi with the Wyvern Catch (6 minutes, 54 seconds)

MATCH THREE
Yoshinari Ogawa, LEONA & Kai Fujimura vs AMAKUSA, Super Crazy & Junta Miyawaki
Winner: AMAKUSA with Kaikoku on Kai Fujimura (13 minutes, 9 seconds)

After the match, Junta Miyawaki offered a handshake to his partner, but AMAKUSA refused and walked off. Later he explained that he wasn't shaking hands as he wanted Junta to show more passion in the match, and in typical Heian era style, he described the tag challenge as "the highest peak" and how they wouldn't make it if Junta didn't pull himself together. LEONA also talked after the match. His subject, his near obsession with Eita, and how even when he shut his eyes he saw Eita's face. LEONA is talking about about another singles match with him.

MATCH FOUR
Naomichi Marufuji, Mohammed Yone & Lance Anoa'i vs Masa Kitamiya, Manabu Soya & Daiki Inaba
Winner: Manabu Soya with a Jumping DDT on Mohammed Yone (11 minutes, 7 seconds)

After the match Manabu Soya and Lance Anao'i squared up. Backstage, Soya told Lance Anao'i he had his number, and he should consider himself a marked match in the N-1. Soya walked off, but found that Lance was waiting for him, and a fight broke out...a fight which Daiki Inaba joined in with. The heavyweights are becoming like the juniors.

MATCH FIVE
Ninja Mack & Hajime Ohara vs Alejandro & Seiki Yoshioka

I'm not sure why Seiki Yoshioka was pulling "The Crane Pose", but it was probably something to do with Ninja Mack. Fans said that "cheerful Yoshioka is back."

Winner: Hajime Ohara with the Mui Bien on Alejandro (9 minutes, 56 seconds)

Backstage, Seiki Yoshioka asked where "Kon-chan" (Shuji Kondoh) was, while Ninja Mack stated to Hajime Ohara that he perhaps would be aiming for the GHC Junior Heavyweight again. However, Noah haven't announced anything official (at the time of writing) and he made no challenge to HAYATA on the night.

MATCH SIX
Good Looking Guys (Jake Lee, Jack Morris, Anthony Green, YO-HEY & Tadasuke) vs Kenoh, Adam Brooks, Stallion Rogers, HAYATA & Eita
Winner: Kenoh with the PFS on Anthony Green (21 minutes, 15 seconds)

Kenoh, who (as the Japanese sports press termed it) had been "GLG Hunting" during the match and had squared off against Jake Lee in the match, got on the turnbuckle and yelled at them "Don't lose to the impromptu team!" Backstage, he continued in much the same volume (I have to say, Noah had some awesome lighting this evening in the comments booth), screaming loudly that the team assembled today were hardly Kongoh, a team who had been put together at random without the Kongoh beliefs or ambitions, and so wasn't it embarrassing to lose? Well, the same could be said in the N-1, he will defeat both Jake and Jack. Jake said softly that Kenoh had become a man who looked good in blue, and he was really looking forward to the N-1.

MATCH SEVEN
AXIZ (Go Shiozaki & Katsuhiko Nakajima) vs Atsushi Kotoge & Hi69
Winner: Katsuhiko Nakajima with the Vertical Spike on Hi69 (17 minutes, 47 seconds)

After the match Katsuhiko Nakajima closed out the show;

"The N-1 starts next month, and a hot hot match is coming. Of course, I am the star. I am in the same block as Go-san, but I'll take the lead role"

Shiozaki just smiled, shook his hand and pointed at him.
