(NOAH) EVENT RECAP: SUNNY VOYAGE 2023 (Saturday September 23rd, Shizuoka/Shimada City Sports Center Sub Arena)
Fans were not too happy that the event before the big event was not streamed live (not even on Instagram), and as a result of this I don't have too much information on some matches, and what I do have mainly comes from some recaps from Pro Wrestling DX and fans who attended the venue. There was heavy rain and resulting traffic problems, but despite this, Noah announced a very good attendance of 382, which although this was not a sold out crowd, included new fans whose first time it was watching Noah live. Event will be uploaded to WrestleUniverse at a later date.
MATCH ONE
Junta Miyawaki & Kai Fujimura vs Taishi Ozawa & Yuu Owada
Winner: Junta Miyawaki with the Modified Guillotine Drop on Yu Owada (6 minutes, 14 seconds)
MATCH TWO
Hajime Ohara vs LEONA
Winner: Hajime Ohara with the Mui Bien clutch (9 minutes, 44 seconds)
MATCH THREE
STINGER (Yoshinari Ogawa & Daga) & Stallion Rogers vs Good Looking Guys (Jack Morris, YO-HEY & Tadasuke)
Winner: Jack Morris with the Tiger Driver on Stallion Rogers (10 minutes, 7 seconds)
After the match, Yoshinari Ogawa once again returned to his favorite subject, Kaito Kiyomiya (I think Ogawa needs a Noah Born in his life that he can blast every now and again, especially as Kotaro is not here), and when asked if his evaluation of Kiyomiya had changed, said that his "ability to think is weak" and if he was to give him any advice, it would be to practice his smile more in front of a mirror.
MATCH FOUR
REAL (Saxon Huxley, Timothy Thatcher & Shuhei Taniguchi) vs Masa Kitamiya, Adam Brooks & Mohammed Yone
Winner: Saxon Huxley with the Neck Hanging Bomb on Mohammed Yone (9 minutes, 50 seconds)
MATCH FIVE
Kaito Kiyomiya & Ryohei Oiwa vs Atsushi Kotoge & Hi69
Winner: Ryohei Oiwa with the German Suplex Hold on Hi69 (10 minutes, 54 seconds)
MATCH SIX
Naomichi Marufuji, Ninja Mack & Alejandro vs Kenoh, Dragon Bane & Alpha Wolf
Kenoh naturally made a beeline for Naomichi Marufuji, and beat him up in front of Akitoshi Saito, who had come down to the venue (Saito said in his last "Noah Note" that he was thinking about going), and Marufuji started begging him for help!
Winner: Alpha Wolf with the moonsault on Alejandro (12 minutes, 12 seconds)
MATCH SEVEN
El Hijo Del Dr Wagner Jnr, Lance Anoa'i, HAYATA, Eita vs Manabu Soya, Daiki Inaba, Shuji Kondo & Seiki Yoshioka
Eita helped HAYATA with the win, as Seiki Yoshioka had him down following a Buzzsaw kick when Eita pushed Shuji Kondo into Yoshioka meaning that HAYATA recovered and got the pin.
Winner: HAYATA with the brainbuster on Seiki Yoshioka (13 minutes, 38 seconds)
*Note, fans at the venue said this was the 403 Impact
After the match, HAYATA glared down at Yoshioka, belt in hand. Backstage he said, "the result will be the same tomorrow".
MATCH EIGHT
Good Looking Guys (Jake Lee vs Anthony Green) vs AXIZ (Go Shiozaki & Katsuhiko Nakajima)
Jake immediately went to work on Shiozaki's right arm, and continued the attack after the match.
Winner: Katsuhiko Nakajima with the Vertical Spike on Anthony Green (14 minutes, 36 seconds)
Following the match, Jake attacked Shiozaki's right arm again by using the iron barriers around the ring. It took Katsuhiko Nakajima on the mic to halt him by saying;
"Jake Lee, don't panic. It's already been decided that you hold that belt, which Go Shiozaki will win tomorrow."
Shiozaki eventually got back in the ring and joined Nakajima. He too spoke on the mic and promised that he would win the GHC Heavyweight tomorrow with the arm that Jake had just tried to attack. He then led the crowd in "I am NOAH/We are NOAH" and concluded with Nakajima by saying, "We are AXIZ!" Backstage, Nakajima asked Shiozaki how he was feeling, Shiozaki said "Everything is perfect". Which Nakajima knows all too well means that he's hurting somewhere and doesn't want to admit it, and said knowledgeably, "I guess". Shiozaki then said that he would use his right arm on Jake until it breaks.
With thanks to: Kei
