Kaito Kiyomiya (27), who is participating in Noah's, "Victory Challenge Tag League" with New Japan's Ryohei Oiwa (25), has declared that he will give up candy in order to achieve his dream.
The league champion will win the right to challenge for the GHC Tag Team Championship held by Jack Morris and Anthony Green, and naturally, Kiyomiya's team is aiming to take the belt from the champions who they lost to in the title match last November. However, they started off with a loss, and the second match was a disappointing draw, it finally began for them on the 2nd March in Nagoya after defeating Takashi Sugiura and Ulka Sasaki. Before the Toyama show the next day, Kiyomiya said, "I think victory is definitely far away". Although he laughed at himself, he vowed to fight back and said, "It's tough, but from now on I will just concentrate on the match before me. I won't think about the future. I'll just go for the win right in front of me."
He says he can think of a number of reasons why he failed to get off to a good start. He worked on gaining wait before the start, and went from 93kg to 100kg.
"My movements have become sluggish. I needed to gain wait while still being able to move, but I ended up overeating because I thought it was okay to eat because I was gaining weight." He hung his head and said, "Since sugar is energy, I ended up eating things like chocolate..." So he has vowed that, "In order to recover from this, I won't eat anything sweet until the league is over!" On that day, they defeated Dragon Bane and Alpha Wolf and got their second win.
Will they continue their winning streak?
