This is AJ's first visit to Japan in five years since the WWE Japan tour in 2019. He will competing in his first singles match with Naomichi Marufuji. He will also attend Noah's pre-event press conference tomorrow (noon on Friday 12th July). The press conference will be streamed live on the ABEMA Fighting Channel and on Noah's official YouTube. Upon arriving at Haneda Airport, AJ was surrounded by reporters and answered questions.

Q: You've just arrived in Japan. How are you feeling?
AJ: I haven't been to Japan since the COVID-19 pandemic, so I'm really looking forward to it.
Q: How many years has it been since you last came to Japan?
AJ: It's been about five years, and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at the Noah press conference tomorrow.
Q: You'll be meeting Naomichi Marufuji for the first time tomorrow at the press conference?
AJ: This is the first time we've met, but I've been following him for a long time, and watching his matches. From just looking at the resume of his career, you can tell he's amazing. I'm looking forward to meeting him tomorrow, and wrestling the day after.
Q: How is your current condition?
AJ: I think I'm in great shape. As you can see, I've been going to the gym quite a bit and increasing my cardio.
Q: What impression did you have of Marufuji's matches?
AJ: He's a representative Noah wrestler, and I watch a lot of Noah matches. I have fond memories of his matches with Mitsuharu Misawa and Kenta Kobashi, but Marufuji always puts on great matches. I'm jealous that he's had matches with Misawa and Kobashi (laughs)
Q: What kind of match would you like to have with Marufuji?
AJ: I want to make it a memorable match. I want to have a classic, high-flying, technical match regardless of age.
Q: What would you like to eat in Japan?
AJ: Yakiniku. I think I'll go tonight (laughs)
