Who was the star of the year!?
It all depends on the votes of our readers!
Pro Wrestling Grand Prix
The most successful professional wrestler during this period
2023 winner: Takahashi Hiromu (New Japan)
Kaito Kiyomiya
In January, he faced off against House of Torture at Noag at Ariake, and New Japan at the Tokyo Dome. In February, he won a new generation showdown against All Japan's Yuma Anzai at the 70th anniversary of Nippon Television. In March, he won Noah's tag league with Ryohei Oiwa. In May he became the GHC Heavyweight Champion for the third time, and following losing the Open The Twin Gate in DRAGONGATE, he won the main event of "ALL TOGETHER" in June, and back in Noah, defended the GHC Heavyweight against Gabe Kidd. In September, he won the N-1 for the first time as the reigning champion.
This year, he is the one and only person to have been active at the top of the industry as a whole.
In February, he defeated Kenoh to become the first Mexican to hold the GHC Heavyweight Championship. Seven years after first coming to Japan, he reached the top of Noah, taking the top title in a Japanese promotion, a feat that even Mil Mascaras had failed to capture. This is his third Noah heavyweight belt, including the GHC Heavyweight Tag Championship in April 2020 and the GHC National Championship in November 2022. He lost the title to Kiyomiya Kaito in May, but will challenge for the GHC Heavyweight Tag Championship with his younger brother Galeno del Mal on November 30th in Shinagawa.
Newcomer Award
The most successful rookie during this period (for both men and women)
2023 winner = HANAKO (Stardom)
Ulka Sasaki
Debuted for Noah: 2nd January 2024
While working as a top mixed martial artist in RIZIN & UFC, he learned professional wrestling from scratch and made his Noah debut at the Ariake Arena on the 2nd January against Takashi Sugiura. He showed his creativity by combining the techniques of professional wrestling with the submission techniques he had developed, and in July he defeated HAYATA to take the GHC National Championship, which is the quickest Noah title win in history. He is scheduled to face Shinsuke Nakamura, the man who introduced him to professional wrestling, in a singles match at the Nippon Budokan on January 1st next year.
BEST UNIT
The most active unit (regardless of gender) during this period.
2023 winner: Cosmic Angels (STARDOM)
ALL REBELLION
Members: Kaito Kiyomiya, Kenoh, Alejandro, Kai Fujimura
In May, Kaito Kiyomiya, who became the GHC Heavyweight Champion, united with his arch rival Kenoh. Alejandro and others joined in and they started to revolutionize Noah. In July, Kiyomiya fought Yoshiki Inamura for the GHC Heavyweight Championship in the main event at the Nippon Budokan, and put up a great match that was just as good as the previous match between Naomichi Marufuji and AJ Styles. As if responding to this revolution, a new generation of juniors has emerged, providing a lot of buzz all year long, including the betrayal and shocking revelations of Taichi Ozawa, who joined All Rebellion in October.
Other nominations were
Kaito Kiyomiya vs Gabe Kidd (Noah, 16th June, Yokohama)
