(NOAH) "It has become a popular content" - NOSAWA Rongai's summary of "MONDAY MAGIC"
18th December 2024 (Issue no 2332)
Noah's "MONDAY MAGIC Autumn Ep Final" ended its third season on November 25th in Shinjuku. Assistant Director NOSAWA Rongai who has completed his important role, gives his summary!
Q: Thank you for your hard work on all five episodes of "Monday Magic Autumn." This was your third season, but how did you feel when it ended?
NOSAWA: It's held sporadically (laughs), but it really feels like it's become a part of the content. This time, MONDAY MAGIC was a course meal that didn't use any special ingredients. It was all about ingenuity and quality, but the customers at MONDAY MAGIC are wealthy wrestling fans who want to enjoy the atmosphere (food). The "MONDAY MAGIC" chants are amazing, and I'm just grateful.
Q: The main event of the final was Brian Kendrick challenging Kaito Kiyomiya for the GHC Heavyweight Championship. What did you honestly think?
NOSAWA: I think there are pros and cons to everything. So why the GHC or the Women's Championship at MONDAY MAGIC (wry smile). Well, you have to use magical powers to get something like that (laughs). And I'm going at it with confidence, so if you ask me honestly how it went, I'd say it was delicious.
Q: This was Kendrick's first match in Japan in eleven years. How was the fight with your "old American friend?"
NOSAWA: Kendrick was extremely nervous, so there was a sense of tension in the match, and he was trying to dominate with the "career" aspect. I think it was a good experience for Kiyomiya to eat ripe ingredients.
Q: What did you think of Naomichi Marufuji, who competed for the first time this season and competed in his first singles match with Yu Owada?
NOSAWA: When you get to this level, you're a natural. There's no magic, and to be honest, I don't want to do magic. The same is true for professional wrestlers, as the good old things are disappearing from the world, they showed us the taste that has been preserved by a long-established craftsman who is only open a few days a month.
Q: On the women's side, Bozilla teamed up with Great Sakuya. Kouki Amarei asked Iroha to join forces. What will happen next in the "Final"?
NOSAWA: Even in movies and foreign TV dramas that are one-episodes, there are plot twists that are never resolved. There are three seasons in total, and everything is connected in ways that we cannot see. Only those in the know might understand, the girls didn't react well at first, but thanks to the Monday Magic audience, they were able to cast a spell. This was the final, but is there more to come, or is it a mystery that will never be solved? I hope everyone will be fooled by me (laughs loudly)
Q: The four man tag match between the US and Mexico was a heated battle.
NOSAWA: It was really amazing. It's nationalism. It was interesting that Vinnie Massaro was the one who cast the spell in that. As it is now, streaming can be used worldwide, so I want to spread it even more. I'd like to eventually hold a World Cup with MONDAY MAGIC but I don't know how many countries we can gather, though (laughs)
Q: Q: In the junior 5-way, the GHC Junior champion Daga showed his strength, skill, and toughness.
NOSAWA: This match format is becoming a standard for MONDAY MAGIC, The type and number of toppings change depending on the day due to the power of magic. Daga is a wrestler who can compete in any country, so I really have nothing more to say.
Q: In the first match, Ulka Sasaki made a strong move against Go Shiozaki.
NOSAWA: As a pro wrestler, I think it's best to worry a lot, and sometimes it's okay to fail, and then to find the answer, but sometimes even if you do that no one, no matter how good a superstar you are, can find the answer. But right now, But right now, Ulka should just believe in himself and not worry, so my encouragement for the fight against Shinsuke Nakamura was Go Shiozaki. I feel like Shiozaki was the catalyst that brought out the best in Ulka. If he wasn't perfect and had more confidence in himself and was a bit rough in a good way, he might be able to beat Shinsuke Nakamura.
Q: After the main event, you announced that you would be holding "MONDAY MAGIC" next year. Please tell us your outlook for the future, including the two shows you will be offering at Korakuen Hall on the 19th December?
NOSAWA: "MONDAY MAGIC" will be a spin off at Korakuen Hall on the 19th December. There are some experimental elements under limited conditions, but I want to win as a brand. Next year, I'll be working closely with WRESTLE UNIVERSE, and I have a lot of issues in my head, so I want to digest them and steadily create content with an eye on the world beyond Japan. Next year's theme is simply "challenge." I think I'll step on another landmine (laughs)
