(ALL JAPAN) Successor to the great Baba? Tomomi Tsuruta

Weekly Pro
(December 1972)

All Japan Pro Wrestling continues to move forward under the banner of "Ideal Pro Wrestling," and has welcomed a promising new talent, Tomomi Tsuruta, (22 years old, Chuo University Wrestling Club), to the ranks. At the announcement ceremony on October 30th (at the Katsura Room of the Akasaka Prince Hotel), Baba declared, "He's my successor!!!" It's no exaggeration to say that he's staked the fate of All Japan Pro Wrestling on Tsuruta's growth.

Tsuruta appeared at the press conference dressed in the formal attire of a Munich Olympics* representative athlete (Greco-Roman 100kg and above).

The Munich Olympics: This was the year when Palestinian extremists known as "Black September" invaded the Olympic Village and took 11 members of the Israeli Olympic team hostage. The incident ended in the worst possible way, with a total of twelve hostages and police officers killed.
