(NOAH) He hasn't won a single match since the launch...not even his second match since his return
(Issue No. 997)
He has not had a single win since the inception of the company, and was forced to withdraw due to surgery on his right elbow. Since coming to Noah, Omori has frankly not been impressive. It feels like he has been late to board the Ark. Omori is now riding in what could be described as a small rowboat. He puts all his strength into the oars, trying to catch up with the ark which is ahead of him, but in reality he should have been able to catch up in the two matches following his absence. However, instead of catching up, he has instead fallen further behind. Ultimately, he is yet to be declared the winner. He lost to Izumida the night before, and Asako was pinned in the tag match, which resulted in a loss for the team. Of course, winning and losing isn't everything, but what's bothering me is that the Axe Bomber didn't fire on either night. He was unable to get into a winning pattern, but I can't help but feel that he was intentionally holding back on his right arm. In other words, as he himself said, "I'm not 100%," he was still not at his best.
According to information I had received from Takayama beforehand, he had spotted Omori practicing and lifting dumbbells immediately after being released from hospital. So I was sure he was in perfect condition, but...at this rate it is impossible for him to make it to the forefront.
In the main ring, where Akiyama & Takayama are tackling Kobashi, Omori should have joined in and made the match even more exciting. This brings up the question of whether NO FEAR will survive. Takayama has not officially teamed up with Akiyama, but the pattern of these two fighting against Kobashi is becoming more common in the future. In this situation, what does Omori, who has already struggled to produce results, intend to do next? He says that he feels that there is no other partner for him than Takayama, so naturally he is not considering disbanding NO FEAR at any time. However, if Takayama were to continue to tag with Akiyama, then it would be a different story.
"I have no intention of teaming up with Akiyama. He's the opponent I'm most excited to face. If Takayama is going to team up with Akiyama, I don't need to team up with anyone else. I don't mind a singles match at all." Perhaps Omori was thinking about how to smoothly jump into the fray, and this was the catalyst for him to take action against the ark that had left him behind.
Was that the action he took after the main event ended?
Picture blurbs
"For some reason, Misawa's elbows seemed to have more power than usual. He even knocked Asako down with one final blow"
This was Omori's first Noah match against Misawa. Misawa said about NO FEAR, "I'll have to face tougher opponents from now on"
Asako pushed Omori away, but it didn't seem to lead to a rift between NO FEAR.
