(NOAH) Engraving the spirit of the Hinomaru! Kikuchi and Hashi clash head to head with stubborn determination
(Issue No. 998)
EXCEEDING OUR DREAMS 2000 (24th September Kyoto KBS Hall)
A fun fight is an essential part of professional wrestling. As proof of this, Family Army & Villain Company matches are met with thunderous cheers at venues all over Japan.
Tsuyoshi Kikuchi & Makoto Hashi.
These two are wrestlers who can put this fun wrestling into practice. Fans who know the relationship between the two in the Villain Company, were probably expecting a fun match that would provide a bit of a breather. However, such expectations were pleasantly surprised. Kikuchi and Hashi engaged in a fierce battle, clashing head to head and showing their determination. "I always give it my all in every match," said Hashi who put up a strong fight, using his greatest weapon, the head-butt, to push Kikuchi to the brink of defeat. However, even better than Hashi was Kikuchi. In the two consecutive matches at Ariake, he launched a fierce attack that was just as tough as when he faced Akiyama and Takayama.
"This wasn't the usual Kikuchi-san, He was probably hurting, but he had the strength to not even notice," Hashi said.
Kikuchi's spirit was incredible. Even familiar attacks like elbows, Zero Fighter kicks, and high-speed brainbusters felt more powerful than usual.
Watching Kikuchi's clash with Hashi, I was certain of one thing: Kikuchi's Hinomaru tights and spirit are not limited to his pairing with Kobashi. Of course, the fun Kikuchi as a member of the Villain Company is great, but I also want to welcome the scary Kikuchi we saw on this day. Lets inscribe the spirit of the Hinomaru onto the Noah mat.
Picture notes
After the match was over, Kikuchi raised Hashi up, and they shook hands.
Hashi went to switch on a microphone to amplify the sound of a punch, however Kikuchi blindsided him with an elbow when he was going to turn it on. This caused him to head-butt the mic, causing his head to split open.
Notes
Family Army & Villain Company: An All Japan unit of Giant Baba and Rusher Kimura (Family Gundan, who were teaming as sworn brothers), who usually fought the heel stable called "The Villain Company".
