(NOAH) "I'm happy to be fighting the top juniors," but throw away that unfamiliar modesty...eat Sasuke!

EXCEEDING OUR DREAMS 2000
25th September - Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium

Marufuji will be fighting Sasuke at Michinoku Pro's Ariake event on October 8th. He also has the added bonus of challenging for his first title in a NWA World Middleweight Championship match.
The launch of Noah brought a big opportunity to Marufuji, who had previously been just a young wrestler. Not only did it give him a chance to compete in title matches, but it also meant he could face off against a variety of junior wrestlers. Needless to say, juniors are not the focus of Noah, so it is inevitable  that their presence would become diluted, just as it was during the All Japan era. On top of that, he has limited opponents. Marufuji's outstanding aerial ability shines depending on the opponent. He would definitely shine more against a junior who can do aerial techniques, than against a heavyweight. Looking at Noah now, Kobayashi barely fits that description, so competing in other promotions is a great reward for Marufuji.
Regarding his match against Sasuke, Marufuji said, "I hope I can bring out the added bonus". Is this "added bonus" a secret technique that he doesn't usually show? By the way, his post-match comment was, "Rather than a title match, I'm happy to be fighting against a top junior." Even though he was facing a wrestler he had looked up to, this was an extremely humble statement.
Where on earth has the usual Marufuji gone? That usual brash attitude? I can't imagine that he will stay like this until the big day...let him be the usual Marufuji. Unintimidated by anyone, and ready to eat Sasuke!

Picture notes
"Marufuji's missile kick has a unique form that makes it look like he stops in the air for a moment. Every move is full of originality".
Marufuji "tormented" Inoue (Masao) "with his speed".
