He appealed to President Misawa to take part, but the situation changed, and Director Aoyagi went into a furious mood!
As reported in last week's issue, Seishin Kaikan's Director Masashi Aoyagi appeared before the Osaka tournament to personally appeal to Misawa to compete in Noah. His long-held dream of competing in All Japan was denied due to differences in style, and therefore he directly appealed to Misawa to compete in Noah, where he could experience a style different from All Japan.
In response to Director Aoyagi's request to take part in all the shows of the series, Misawa replied that only Nagoya on October 11th would be OK. "Rather than the technical aspects, I'll have to see if he can show his enthusiasm," said Misawa. All future participation will be decided after seeing Nagoya.
Director Aoyagi was taken aback by this. In contrast to the gentleness he had displayed when he had directly appealed to Misawa, saying, "Even if Noah has changed, the costumes are still the same. If they're going to be doing matches that are no different from All Japan, I'm going to have to decline out of spite", he looked angry when he got into his car. Even so, Aoyagi expressed his determination, saying, "I'll risk my life for Nagoya". It's also interesting to note that he will be bringing along a trusted partner on the day.
Picture Notes
Director Aoyagi had approached Misawa as Misawa was watching the wrestlers training in the ring before the event started. Weekly Pro noted that the wrestlers in the ring, didn't seem to pay much attention to what was going on.
Kobayashi is not intimidated! Meanwhile, Asasko's actions are...
Kobayashi's free-spirited fighting style is his true strength. He didn't hesitate to go after his senior. Meanwhile, Asako's entrance theme was unusually not that of NO FEAR. With Omori and Takayama on the verge of breaking up, we're curious to see how things develop...

READERS VOICE: Just Like Kikuchi
"I thought of Noah as a place for young wrestlers to express themselves, a place for hungry guys aiming to be at the top.
Akiyama defeats all four of the Heavenly Kings.
Takayama makes provocative remarks that make full use of mass media.
Morishima, Hashi and Rikio boldly challenge the senior wrestlers.
Something that had been suppressed in All Japan suddenly burst forth, and the landscape changed dramatically. It was a dramatic change, comparable to moving from a formal Japanese house to a luxurious resort condominium in Monaco. However, even with this new-age vibe, Noah has a nostalgic scent drifting through it. I wonder how long it's been since the long hinomaru tights, have been in the spotlight.
Compare Kikuchi.
There was a time when he would collide with Tsuruta*, get beaten up again and again, and then fight back with all his remaining energy. Back then, All Japan was in turmoil due to the mass exodus of wrestlers, and he and his classmate Kobashi were working tirelessly to revitalize the team. Yes, the emotions that resonated in my heart at that time have now come back to me again. I like the funny, "handsome" Tsuyoshi Kikuchi from the Villain Company, but he really needs to be at the forefront. The main ring, where Kobashi's orange and Kikuchi's white blended together, was a very comfortable sight for anyone familiar with the Super Generation Army. Kikuchi's expression was truly lively as he pounded elbows into the faces of big opponents like Akiyama and Takayama. There is no other place where Kikuchi can remain Kikuchi other than in the main ring.
Showing off his mid-career spirit while the new generation is taking centre stage is another new side to Noah.
The present tense of a wrestler suits Noah well.
