(ALL JAPAN) Tiger vs. Kabuki, the heat is on, Hara asks Kabuki to form a unit!?!?!
11th February 1986 (Issue no.130)
SuperBattle '86
January 25th = Takashi Central Gymnasium, Gunma
Kabuki and Tiger Mask, Hara and Tenryu... Each of these four men, harboring their own grudges and animosity, entered the match that day and brilliantly unleashed their emotions during the match. Moreover, the fact that all four fought freely, without being constrained by their personal animosity, was a factor in creating such a great match.
The match began with Hara and Tenryu each defeating Kabuki and Tiger Mask, but as time went on, Hara's battle with Tiger Mask and Kabuki's battle with Tenryu became more intense, resulting in numerous dynamic and exciting moments.
I was particularly surprised when Kabuki attempted a rope-based fist drop on Tiger Mask, and Tenryu crept up from behind and delivered a neck-breaker over the apron. Tenryu's aggressive fighting spirit seemed to have transferred to Tiger Mask, who unleashed a dynamic missile kick.
Kabuki also attempted a submission hold on Tiger, but Tiger countered it and countered with a German suplex. However, the crowd was excited by Kabuki's long-awaited attempt at his signature move. The match ended with Kabuki's "green poison mist" technique resulting in a disqualification. Despite the disqualification, not a single spectator objected to the ruling.
Another noteworthy aspect was the excellent teamwork between Kabuki and Hara. While there was little coordinated tag team play between Tenryu and Tiger Mask, the scenes of Kabuki and Hara working together were very impressive and stood out.
After the match, Hara said, "I have no intention of joining the International Blood Alliance. Although I often team up with Kimura and others, what I really want to do is team up with someone like Kabuki. And I want to bring in Fuyuki and create a freelance faction."
Indeed, judging from this match, Kabuki and Hara are more mobile, fresh, and interesting than the Kimura & Hara tag team. It seems we can expect great things from the Kabuki and Hara team in the future.
Tiger Mask is full of energy, and his extraordinary talent is being unleashed in matches against wrestlers like Kuniaki Kobayashi and Dynamite Kid.
Veteran Kabuki's fierce fighting will undoubtedly help Tiger Mask grow even further.
After the match, Kabuki reached for Tiger Mask's mask and tore it. Tiger Mask was visibly furious, gritting his teeth and muttering "Damn it!" in the locker room. However, this anger should be a major catalyst for both Tiger Mask and Kabuki in their showdown at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium on January 28th. I'm really looking forward to this showdown between these two.
The US express is doing great! They easily defeated the more advanced team of Yatsu and Teranishi!
Windham and Rotundo also continued their impressive run, easily defeating Yatsu and Teranishi, who are far more experienced. Their next visit to Japan will surely bring even more progress.
Picture notes
The animosity between Tiger Mask and Kabuki seemed to be deeper than that between Tenryu and Hara
Not to be outdone, Kara also threw an uppercut punch like Kabuki
Kabuki spat poison mist at Tiger Mask, when he attempted a top turnbuckle elbow drop
