(NOAH) Young people, take on Kenta Kobashi!

Weekly Pro 31st October 2000
(Issue No. 1001)

Shiga, who has rebelled against Kobashi, and Morishima, who openly displays his intense rivalry with Rikio, clashed with the Kobashi & Rikio team in a tag team match.
The most noteworthy aspect of this match is that Kobashi is among the three young wrestlers. Naturally, Kobashi's power is far and away the strongest, and that's an undeniable fact. However, his opponents Shiga and Morishima, as well as his partner Rikio, will be looking to show an even greater presence than Kobashi, especially at a time like this, by pouring their emotions into each other's performances. The younger wrestlers were well aware of this. Shiga entered the ring with a determined "Yosh*!", while Morishima and Rikio glared intensely at each other even before the gong sounded.
However, in the end, it was Kobashi who made the biggest impact. He fully demonstrated his strength with a finishing move where he twisted his opponent with his vise-like arms.
So, does that mean the other young players were no good? The answer is no. The three of them fiercely and intensely clashed with each other, revealing their uncontrollable emotions. The super heavyweight brawl between Morishima and Rikio was incredibly intense, something only these two could deliver. And while Shiga seemed somewhat hesitant at times, he delivered an unprecedented performance after the match, choking Rikio unconscious.
However, they weren't able to overshadow Kobashi this time, but all three certainly have great potential. If they can channel the emotions that exploded after the match into their next one, they should be able to show a presence that rivals Kobashi's. Going forward, I would like to keep an eye on how Morishima, Rikio and Shiga, will compete in singles matches without Kobashi.

Picture notes
Rikio and Morishima had a stare-down, which evolved into a "brutal brawl, that seemed to make the sounds of their punches colliding echo through the air".
Weekly Pro said they wanted to see a more fierce Shiga, like they saw in this match.

Notes
Yosh!: A colloquial exclamation similar to “all right!”, “got it!”, or “yes!”
