Guide to New Japan vs Noah

Background
Since the disaster of "The Suzuki-Gun Invasion" in 2016, Noah and New Japan have had nothing to do with each other and remained rivals. During those years, Noah made their climb back up to the top undergoing almost constant ownership (Estbee sold Noah to LIDET, LIDET sold Noah to CyberAgent) and put the past behind them in a lot of significant ways with old faces returning to the promotion, running Sumo Hall, and then finally returning to The Budokan. The final bridge to mend was with New Japan. New Japan itself had undergone a lot of changes too since that time, the company had changed presidency and now both promotions were in a position to bury the hatchet with so much changed and to once again maintain a friendly rivalry as they had once done during what was known as "The Golden Era". This is a new, exciting and better way for New Japan and Noah to once again work together and for both to put the past behind them, especially during the Coronavirus pandemic when its hard to bring foreign wrestlers over, and especially for the future of their younger talent.

The event will be broadcast live on the 8th January 2022 from the Yokohama Arena. The event will be broadcast from 5pm JST, and will cost you about $34. You can watch this from the 8th January to the 21st. I do advise that you read more about the viewing fee at the link above as ABEMA are advising that this is calculated to current exchange rates.

Notes
- Despite the teasing that Kaito Kiyomiya got for his oversized green jacket at the press conference, he knew what he was doing as when he squared up to Hiroshi Tanahashi, it was a dominant color in the picture on the front of "Weekly Pro"
- KENTA teamed with Takashi Sugiura and Kazushi Sakuraba at Noah's New Year Event at The Nippon Budokan on the 1st, and was due to again on the 8th at New Japan. Takashi Sugiura has told him that he's a member of The Sugiura Army, not Bullet Club. In addition, Takashi Sugiura says he wants to do a collaboration between The Sugiura Army and KENTA'S REVERSAL. This never happened and much to KENTA'S embarrassment, Sugiura kept repeating that we will "Crush New Japan". However,  KENTA was injured during a ladder match for the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship on the 6th November and suffered a fractured nasal bone (which required surgery), posterior dislocation fracture of the left hip joint, back laceration and mallet finger. A mystery wrestler will replace him. Both KENTA and Sugiura see the funny side of this. KENTA posting a picture of a little step ladder to Hiroshi Tanahashi and saying that next time they should use one of these. Takashi Sugiura is wondering who will be the replacement? Genba? Someone he knows? Captain Noah? Fans think it might be either Kazuyuki Fujita or the victim of the most recent WWE purge and former Sugiura Army member, Hideki Suzuki.
- NOSAWA Rongai says he is torn as his opponents are old friends of his from Mexico.
- The current GHC Junior Heavyweight champion, HAYATA, will face Taiji Ishimori. Ishimori holds the record for the longest reign which HAYATA wishes to beat. It was of course Ishimori who ended HAYATA's first reign.
- Zack Sabre Junior was Yoshinari Ogawa's pupil and the two where GHC Junior Heavyweight Tag Champions during Zack's Noah era. Yoshinobu Kanemaru is a thorny issue as he was part of The Suzuki Army invasion and to make things more difficult, he walked out of All Japan to Noah with Mitsuharu Misawa. He was not invited to Naomichi Marufuji's 20th anniversary "Flight" when even Takeshi Morishima was invited.
