(NOAH) CARD: BACK IN THE KOBE! ~ Live 2022 ~ (June 19th, Hyogo / Kobe Sambo Hall)
Naomichi Marufuji is absent due to recovering from a knee operation, while Yasutaka Yano remains absent due to head and neck injuries.
MATCH ONE
Mohammed Yone & Alexander Otsuka vs Shuhei Taniguchi & Kinya Okada
Alexander Otsuka (who was last seen in Noah in 2021) returns today to team with Mohammed Yone against Yone's former partner, Shuhei Taniguchi. Taniguchi seems to be acting as a mentor for the younger roster, we saw this with Kai Fujimura recently and we may well see it again with Okada. Okada vs Otsuka will be interesting. However, someone needs to provoke the monster in order to have a full Taniguchi resurrection.
MATCH TWO
YO-HEY & Extreme Tiger vs Atsushi Kotoge vs Alejandro
Friendly match between The Noah Junior Regular Army and two of the Open The TriangleGate tag champions. In order to know how to fight together, they need to fight each other, so this is kind of a scouting match for the upcoming Open The TriangleGate championship match against Perros Del Mal De Japon.
MATCH THREE
Kazushi Sakuraba vs Simon Gotch
One of the matches that Simon Gotch has been waiting for since he came to Noah, and one that fans have been anticipating. As stated, this event will not be streamed live, but hopefully this will be one of the matches that Noah show.
MATCH FOUR
STINGER (Yoshinari Ogawa & Yuya Susumu) vs Seiki Yoshioka & Kai Fujimura
Yoshinari Ogawa takes a back seat here to do some teaching, while Seiki Yoshioka and Yuya Susumu go to war over Yoshioka's leaving STINGER. It should be noted that Susumu is swinging between anger with Yoshioka and saying he will never forgive him if he does leave, to saying that he isn't leaving and will think about it more rationally when he calms down. I think Susumu is going to get a kick to the head for any reconciliation attempts as I doubt this is going to be sorted until their singles match, if it is even sorted then.
MATCH FIVE
HAYATA, who has developed a skillset similar to Hajime Ohara's now, takes on his challenger to the GHC Junior in a singles pre match. It's rare that a pre match happens in a singles in this manner, but with HAYATA'S rapid change in style and Ohara's new angry persona, it's going to be an interesting match. Personally, I think that with his skillset, Ohara would be good in STINGER.
MATCH SIX
Go Shiozaki & THE TOUGH TRIO (Michael Elgin, Masa Kitamiya & Yoshiki Inamura) vs The Sugiura Army (Takashi Sugiura, Timothy Thatcher, Rene Dupree & El Hijo Del Dr Wagner Jnr)
Hoss fight, elbow war, slam war, all out war between Noah's heavyweights. The GHC Heavyweight tag titles are unchallenged for, and there are plenty of candidates on the opposing team. However, I doubt that Takashi Sugiura will be among them.
MATCH SEVEN
GHC National Championship
There has been no pre matches or match signing ceremony for this. It all came about when Masato Tanaka made Masakatsu Funaki tap on the 7th June. This will be their first "normal" singles match, as their last one was a hardcore blast. I would not be surprised if Masato Tanaka does win the title tonight as I think plans may have changed now that Keiji Mutoh has announced his retirement as he wanted to challenge Funaki for the belt on his 60th birthday in December.
MATCH EIGHT
Satoshi Kojima, Kaito Kiyomiya, Daiki Inaba & The Noah Junior Regulars (Daisuke Harada & Haoh) vs Kongoh (Kenoh, Katsuhiko Nakajima, Manabu Soya, Tadasuke & Hi69)
There is a lot going on in this match; Kenoh has challenged Satoshi Kojima for the GHC Heavyweight, so they are going to be fighting a pre match, the Noah Juniors normally attack each other on sight, and Haoh and Tadasuke of course are going to be fighting a match next week where the loser will leave Noah. Kojima and Soya have unfinished business and Kojima and Nakajima have not been in a ring together since 2016 when Team Noah defeated Team New Japan.
