(NOAH) CARD: SUNNY VOYAGE 2022 (Sunday, July 3rd - Yamagata Big Wing, Yamagata)
Go Shiozaki and Shuhei Taniguchi are missing from tonight's event. Go Shiozaki has been in close contact with someone infected with Coronavirus, while Shuhei Taniguchi suffered mild heatstroke yesterday. Also absent are Daisuke Harada (recovering from fever), Yasutaka Yano (injured) and Naomichi Marufuji (recovering from a knee operation).
Go Shiozaki will be replaced on autograph duty tonight, but Noah have not yet announced by who.
MATCH ONE
Seiki Yoshioka vs Kai Fujimura
Poor Kai Fujimura, Seiki Yoshioka has a lot of pent up anger and a new superkick. That's all I need to say.
MATCH TWO
Noah International (Rene Dupree & Simon Gotch) vs Yoshiki Inamura & Kinya Okada
Interesting match where Noah's rapidly growing Yoshiki Inamura teams with his classmate Kinya Okada against foreign talent. Okada vs Simon Gotch should be interesting, as should Inamura vs Dupree. I wonder what Hideki Suzuki will have to say about Okada tonight.
MATCH THREE
The Noah Junior Regulars (YO-HEY & Atsushi Kotoge) vs Kongoh Juniors (HI69 & Tadasuke)
Tadasuke commented yesterday that when he fought the Noah Junior Regulars that they fought as if Haoh meant nothing and didn't even try to avenge his loss. I think in a smaller match without the GHC Heavyweight Champion and his challenger eclipsing them, Tadasuke might see something different tonight.
MATCH FOUR
Kongoh (Katsuhiko Nakajima & Hajime Ohara) vs Mohammed Yone & Alejandro
Most people's reaction to Mohammed Yone's defiant declaration of Disco love is to attack him enraged. Katsuhiko Nakajima's is to laugh, half pull a Saturday Night Fever pose, and then laugh some more. Not because Nakajima likes Disco, but because he likes winding people up. There isn't really much to say about this match however, aside from a Yone vs Nakajima kick fight.
MATCH FIVE
El Hijo Del Dr Wagner Jnr vs Xtreme Tiger
Heavyweight luchadore vs junior luchadore. It's going to be fun, especially before the next match.
MATCH SIX
STINGER (HAYATA, Yuya Susumu & Yoshinari Ogawa) vs Perros Del Mal De Japon (NOSAWA Rongai, Kotaro Suzuki & Super Crazy)
This is going to get very ugly, very quickly.
Yesterday, Yoshinari Ogawa's long awaited singles match with Kotaro Suzuki was ruined by Perros Del Mal De Japon. Not only did NOSAWA and Super Crazy get the match thrown out, they also beat him down afterwards. But Ogawa will get his revenge, both in the ring and no doubt by exploiting those cracks between Kotaro and NOSAWA. We have seen Ogawa do it before Perros "left" Noah, and no doubt we will see the mind games again. Yuya Susumu will be also looking for revenge as he was involved in the three on two melee brawl when he came to help Ogawa, and HAYATA hates Perros just as much as anyone else does.
I wonder if Seiki Yoshioka will appear?
MATCH SEVEN
Satoshi Kojima & Daiki Inaba vs Kongoh (Kenoh & Manabu Soya)
The GHC Heavyweight Champion and his challenger take another step towards the Nippon Budokan in the form of a pre match, a foul mouthed verbal battle and now that they have used squats and push ups...who knows what else? As for their partners, it's a W-1 rivalry that was not settled yesterday when the time ran out on their singles match. Soya was about to put Inaba away with the lariat when the bell sounded the end of the match, he's going to want to pick up where he left off tonight.
MATCH EIGHT
Kaito Kiyomiya, Michael Elgin & Masa Kitamiya vs The Sugiura Army (Takashi Sugiura, Timothy Thatcher & Hideki Suzuki)
The GHC Heavyweight tag champions take the main tonight as they fight their challengers, Timothy Thatcher and Hideki Suzuki. The champions won their match yesterday, but they did not pin their challengers, tonight is another chance to get ahead in the race.
