(NOAH) CARD - KAWASAKI, GO! 2021 (Sunday August 15th, Culttz Kawasaki)
Hajime Ohara
Noah are six men down at the moment, three are on long term injury (Go Shiozaki, Hitoshi Kumano and Yoshiki Inamura), two have tested positive for COVID (YO-HEY & Nioh) and one is self isolating (Keiji Mutoh/Great Muta), and so the card has undergone some changes today.
For those lucky enough to be going to the event the doors open at 3pm JST, with the show starting at 4pm. Hajime Ohara and Daisuke Harada will present the new merchandise in a pre-show stream, Kendo Kashin and Kazuyuki Fujita will be signing autographs, and local hero Hajime Ohara, will be posing for photographs after the event. Noah will also be making a big announcement.
For the rest of us who are not as lucky to be able to go to the event, we can watch it live online.
Free live and (hopefully) worldwide broadcast, which begins at 15:30 JST. You can only watch this live, you cannot watch replays unless you are a member. I don't recommend this unless you are either in Japan or have a VPN you know is compatible with ABEMA. A subscription to WrestleUniverse would be better. Commentary will be in Japanese.
Subscribers only. English commentary available.
$19.99, English commentary and available everywhere except Japan. You can watch replays as many times as you wish.
MATCH ONE
N-1 VICTORY 2021 Block B qualifying match
King Tani vs Kendo Kashin
Funky King Tani takes on his persistent stalker, Kendo Kashin, to fight for the vacant slot in the N-1 Victory as Kazunari Murakami has had to drop out due to a problem with a sciatic nerve. This all came about when Shuhei Taniguchi came to the Noah press conference and while he was talking about his personal life (and how his wife won't talk to him), Kendo Kashin from "LIDET SPORTS" turned up and they both decided to compete to enter. You can read about the full happening here.
Needless to say, whoever enters is unlikely to please Kenoh.
If this match goes over the time limit, it will simply go into over time until it is resolved.
MATCH TWO
Masa Kitamiya vs Daiki Inaba
Filler match due to Noah having six roster members either on long term injury or missing due to COVID (Muta is self isolating)
MATCH THREE
Funky Express (King Tany, Mohammed Yone, Akitoshi Saito & Masao Inoue) vs Junta Miyawaki, Kinya Okada, Yasutaka Yano & Kai Fujimura
The disco loving veterans of Noah take on three Noah born and young Kai Fujimura. Kinya Okada vs Akitoshi Saito should be interesting, Daisuke Harada is convinced that Junta Miyawaki may get the win, and young Yasutaka Yano continues with his quest to slam King Tany. Lets see if these seniors wear the looks of the others when he attacks them at a level far beyond his years. Yoshinari Ogawa has taught him well.
MATCH FOUR
Momo No Seishun (Daisuke Harada & Atsushi Kotoge) vs Perros de mal del Japan (Kotaro Suzuki & Ikuto Hidaka)
With HAYATA elsewhere on the card tonight, there is no pre-match for Kotaro Suzuki, so instead he and Ikuto Hidaka take on their old enemies. I say "old enemies" as this is the Noah Juniors.
MATCH FIVE
Hajime Ohara vs Kaito Kiyomiya
The founder of Noah's end of summer event, Culttz Kawasaki, local hero, Noah's treasure, university student, dojo teacher and tireless member of the Kawasaki Health Board, volunteer fireman and teacher of the elderly, Hajime Ohara takes on young Kaito Kiyomiya. Originally, Kiyomiya was meant to take on NOSAWA Rongai to get revenge on him bloodying him up, but due to The Great Muta having to self isolate, the card has been changed.
Press conference comments can be found here.
MATCH SIX
GHC JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHT TAG CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Aleja, Tadasuke's new toy, and his increasingly off the rails tag partner, take on Noah's most reclusive tag team. Tadasuke is convinced of two things; Aleja getting the win, and in this Yoshioka has admitted that Aleja's ability is beyond anything he imagined, and that he can't tell the difference between Yoshioka and Susumu.
Press conference comments can be found here.
MATCH SEVEN
Kongoh (Kenoh, Katsuhiko Nakajima, Manabu Soya & Haoh) vs The Sugiura Army (Kazushi Sakuraba, Kazuyuki Fujita, Kendo Kashin & Daisuke Nakamura)
For Katsuhiko Nakajima this is an excellent opportunity before the N-1 VICTORY starts in September to take down fellow block member, Kazushi Sakuraba. For Kenoh it's chance to take down the man who took the GHC National from him, Kazuyuki Fujita. The combination of Kenoh and Fujita is always amusing, as neither are people you would associate with comedy, but somehow they always seem to bring out that in each other. The last time they met, Fujita propelled Kenoh from the Kongoh corned to stand on the turnbuckle, not to mention the title challenge made while trampling Kendo Kashin. With Kenoh's Nippon Kempo being very similar to the MMA backgrounds of Katsuhiko Nakajima and the whole of The Sugiura Army, expect a very MMA based match.
I would also be very remiss if I didn't mention the hoss fight between Kazuyuki Fujita and Manabu Soya...
MATCH EIGHT
SPECIAL TAG IN KAWASAKI
Magical Immortality (Naomichi Marufuji) & NOSAWA Rongai vs STINGER (HAYATA & Yoshinari Ogawa)
This match was originally meant to be The Great Muta & Magical Immortality (who says he has new ring wear), but the card has been changed. NOSAWA says he is not a replacement for Great Muta, and isn't going to be imitating him. While Great Muta would have been something new, for both Yoshinari Ogawa and HAYATA, NOSAWA is a marked man due to the Noah Junior war, and he is one of the few people who can actually irritate HAYATA. NOSAWA, somewhat innocently, says that he has no friction with them and will kick them in the crotch as his special move.
NOSAWA'S press conference on the match can be found here.
MATCH NINE
GHC NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP & ZERO1 WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
The Bullet Yankees go to war in a belt vs belt match in a match to knock the other guy out. On the line is more than belts - its promotion pride, power, strength, motivation, mentality and even suntans. Whoever wins will walk away (if they can even stand) as double champion.
